I have an original ps3break.com with 1.0 firmware.
I want to update it to newer one, but I can't fint the burner anywhere!

If I'll update it, will I still need a bd disc in a drive?

Will I still have to press reset while turning my ps3?

How about newer games like gt5? Will it work?

No you wont need a disk just like 1.1 and 1.2

Yes

Short answer no. You can play with the original disc if you upgrade to 3.50. you can downgrade afterwards.(but is it worth it?)

as far as I know 1.0 cannot be updated
its using a PIC chip instead of atmel

Now that the encryption key has been leaked, I don't think it matters. Just wait and all the current hacks will be obsolete. Someone should be able to come up with a way to decode the games so they run without any hacks....
