Hi everyone, this is my first post in the PS3 forum. I'm a complete noob in hacking, fixing or anything about the PS3.

So I saw a PS3 Phat YLOD here in the Philippines. I was curios if it's fixable. I heard that it can be fixed but it will only work for a limited time. The owner said that he got it fixed but it only lasted for 5 minutes. Do you think it's still fixable? I saw a vid of gilksy from Youtube but I don't know if it works. Is there a permanent fix?

How much does it cost if I will get someone to repair it if I buy it?

The gilksy repair does work. I've had my PS3 fixed from a YLOD for about a month now with no problems. I dont believe this is a permanent fix, but as long as you do it correctly, it should last you enough to be worthwhile.
Be smart, get the correct tools and work patiently. Its not a hard fix to do yourself. Best of luck.
