PS1/2 PS3 Startup problem!

I am using HDMI cables for my PS3. My TV supports up to 720p but the PS3 auto set it on 1080. WHen I boot the PS3, it goes to snow then to black then to snow and by the time the picture shows up, the ps3 is already at the XMB so I have never seen my PS3 start up screen. I changed it 720p but the quality doesn't seem quite as nice and it still didnt solve the snow problem at boot. Anyone else have this happen?

Your tv is just taking a long time to do the HDMI handshaking. Switch to component and you'll see the boot up screen.

Hold the power down for 10 seconds, should solve the problem, your not exactly missing much though, it just boots to the XMB...

Alright, well as long as this topic is here, I was wondering where the PS3 stores all of its data, or at least, where you can access it. I am used to the 360 where you just go into the HD in settings and it lists all of your files. Is there something like that for PS3? I was just wondering where all of my game updates/addons and places in Home were going.
