I'm thinking of buying a xbox360 or a ps3 controller for my pc and I want to use it with the following game

maple story
combat amrs
need for speed online
fifa online
battlefield heroes
Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine
Dynasty Warriors Online
grand chase

and what ever else I decide to play in the future so my so my question is which one is better what software do I need for set up which one is easier to set up on a side I was going to spend the money on the 3ds untill I read that wednesdays announcement is for japan only anyway let me know

There is no official pc adapter for the ps3 controller. (only some homemade drivers)

So I would suggest you the xbox360 controller with the usb wireless receiver for Windows.(made by microsoft)

For the xbox controller, the software come with the usb receiver. (very easy to operate)

For the ps3 controller you need an homemade driver like this one

You can use joy2key or xpadder to fix it for that.

Question: Can I connect a wired 360 controller to my PC just fine too?
Yes. From what I've heard the wired one even has less problems than the wireless one on a PC.

Yes.

@ the OP: they'll both work, so pick whichever one you like better. PS3 controllers take a bit more work to get going but it shouldn't be more than 10 minutes to set it all up, and then you'll be good to. As previosly mentioned, joy2key or something similar will let you use either controller with anything that supports keyboard control.

to save hassle, just buy a xbox controller. I only have a ps3 controller and it works on my comp perfectly. So if your a guy who doens't want to go through the hassle buy downloading drivers etc, get a 360 controller

Downloading drivers is one thing. But if you're using Vista/7 you're going to have to disable driver signing at every bootup if you want to use a PS3 controller - either manually or if you manage to find a working permanent solution.

Thanks to all three

I should get a 360 controller within 2 weeks from now, wired. I'm looking forward to playing FIFA 11 with it, not to mention Saints Row 2.
