Hacking PS3 Jailbreak issues...

Alright so I just got a PS3 today 3.55 Phat I formatted my flash drive to fat 32 made a PS3 folder then an UPDATE folder put the KMEAW jailbreak in it and proceeded to install it but during installation I received an error message (8002F14E) it retried and continued to fail so I was stuck on an update loop for a while then I took a hard drive out of a laptop and put it in and tried installing the official 3.55 firmware and it did the same thing to that one... Also I've tried to format the hard drives with Gparted live I put the hard drive in my laptop loaded Gparted live booted via flash drive but the partition was locked and I couldn't format it... I dont really know what else I can do If someone could please help me Id greatly apperciate it this has all been rather teeth pulling...

Put it back.in the ps3, check to see if it's formated correctly in the settings menu. That error indicates that something is wrong with the bluray drive. Check to see if it's connected property. Than repeat, also, why kmeaw? Use rogero

Kmeaw is an outdated and irrelvant CFW these days. Everybody uses rebug, I highly recommend it.

Can I just update it to the 4.80.2 rebug or will I have to change all my fixed eboot.bins (from 3.55 to the current version)?

IIRC should be fine to update, all should work, however if for some reason it doesn't, simply update the game (manually with USB stick or through Internet directly on console) and it's fixed.

Yeah, it should work fine. Put rebug on a usb flash drive like you would a normal update.

I remember reading that old 3.55 eboot fixed were fake signed and blocked with newer FW revisions. and I do not want to collect new eboots for all my games.

Ya thanks guys I fixed it the ribbon wasn't properly connected it was missing a piece so put a small piece of cardboard in it and I tapped it its working fine thanks for the recommendation for rebug I'll install that one instead.
