I just bought a 60GB Phat PS3 off eBAY. It has a single issue. It doesn't come with a Blu-Ray disc drive. I thought. "Simple enough, I'll just install CFW and not have to use a disc drive." I messaged the seller, and he said it was on OFW 3.72. Question is can I buy something such as a downgrader, to downgrade the firmware to something exploitable? Then launch PSN titles, and possible PS3 games off a USB HDD? Would this be a suitable downgrader? My final question is, is the above downgrader I mentioned solderless for PS3 Phats? I've heard for some downgraders that they have to be soldered. (No issue for me, just curious on the size of the points I'd have to solder if I did.) Thanks a ton.

Yup, I thought so. My plan is to get the Downgrader, downgrade to 3.55, and probably remarry the PS3 to another drive. Once that's done, I'll install CFW. Sound possible?
