Hang on.

Did your ex-flatmate take it when he moved out?
Or did someone break in to your house and steal it?

Your story seems to be changing.

Uh, I somehow doubt this is true. Why would someone break into your house and steal JUST the PS3?

I guess thats the only thing small and expensive thing they saw in my room and took it.

Is there a way you can replace it?

Maybe you should try hiring a detective or something?

I really doubt it'd be possible to do this but wouldn't Sony be able to track where a PS3 is by the MAC address of the PS3 when they sign on PSN, you wouldn't be able to find an exact address but you'd find a general location.

It would be cheaper just to buy a new PS3.

Anyway, this guy keeps changing his story...
the doors key were broken.
and they also moved out at the same day.
maybe they did it on purpose so I would think that someone else did it or something.
I really dont know if it was them or not.

Well if there was a mess, like someone was looking for something then it wasn't them. However if the place was tidy and there was just a hole where a PS3 would be then it was your mates.

Schizio has got a bad case of the Phoenix Wrights today!

It doesn't seem as if the guy's changing his story at all, but simply shedding more light on the situation as he gives more detail. But, then again, I've never been the best at deductive reasoning.

GUYs did i mention i have a ps3 now? I bought it at ebay, but there was no contoller. Oh well.
jk.

yeap, the guys who stole yours will probably just sell it. Cause if they want to use it they'd take the controller. So even if you ban the ps3 it wouldnt make them feel bad as they got money and those who bought it from them will be the one pissed off.

He seems very certain both times. And each statement excludes the other.

Thus, he keeps changing his story.

Does it really matter how it got stolen?

but, if this was troll bait or attention seeking or something, well, yes it would matter.

Well, the problem is that:
-You supposedly allowed total strangers to live in your home.
-Never bothered learning their names (quite odd).
-They for sure would have had a key to the place.
-You have no idea how they opened the door.
-The only thing taken was your PS3 and hdmi cord.

Sound a little odd to you? Odd as in made up?

If the OP wasn't there, he's speculating what happened, which means he doesn't really know either, I don't see the big reason behind attacking him, either.

I'd suggest the same thing, as well as calling the police.
Doing nothing means you showed no effort to do anything about it the expensive system that was stolen.

-they were gona pay me good.
-I know their names. But never copied their Id mor anything so who knows if it's their real name or not.
- they did had the key to the house. But not to my room.
- the door to my room was just opened.
-yes. That's the only thing they took from my room. Is that my fault?

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze

  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's dumb
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Maybe.
  • Veho @ Veho:
There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
