The quote on the website says: "Compatiable all device like PS3/WII/XBOX360/MP3/DVD/BD/MP4/Table PC which has NAND or NOR flash memory."

Now what exactly does that mean?

It means it can mess with the NAND or NOR flash memory of any of those devices.

but why?
for that price you may as well just buy a progskeet...

Progskeet requires soldering 56 wires, and missoldering can cause a bricked PS3. This has no soldering.

i see no mention in the description of this being solder-less...
also, how would it be solderless if it needs to support several hw revisions of both phat and slim? (other than having at least two versions of the product or having solder-less for one and soldering required for other)

Solderless for NOR Slim chipsets only. NAND is solder, but much less than 56 wires.

As it says in the link (poorly translated):
QUOTE
4: At present, on nand flash console, it need solder wire. And no dual boot function because no 256M NAND FLASH ON E3 FLASHER.
on nor flash fat console, it need solder wire , and include dual boot function.
on slim console, it no need solder wire but need solder some point.it is easy can be done in 3min. (don’t misunderstand no solder wire means no solder)

okay, but still a waste of money for those who don't care either way how many wires there are

...THANK GOD someone told me this because i was about to buy a progskeet for a friends ps3 and i DO NOT think he would be happy with a bricked ps3. Anyway >_> So... basically the wires are tinned already and i just need to solder it on to the mobo on very few parts orr? And if someone could post the directions that would be appreciated

You mean for Progskeet? Check their website if so.
As for E3 Flash, i'm not 100% sure how it works or is installed, except what that link says. Wait until September 12th, the instructions should be posted on their website.

Yess! What do I win?

5 internets? Good point though. So basically this is the same thing in regards of use as the PS3 Jailbreak? Well not that interesting for me, but for some it may be good :3

this is really good for someone who mistakingly updated his firmware once but now does not want to do it all.
its not a permanent situation and i dont think a permanent situation will come unlike the ps2.

this is probably the best deal for slim owners.
