Found this on MaxConsole in case anyone wants to try. And this was posted today.

Here is a rough summary of what is required:

Step 1: Install Ubuntu on your PS3 (or kubuntu)
Step 2: Install Windows XP on Ubuntu
Step 3: Install CloneCD on Windows XP and connect to network another PC so has seen in My Network Places. I do not know if AnyDVD HD is necessary, but I installed it for me
Step 4: Open CloneCD, select new image, insert the game, select “Protected PC Game”, change the extension to ISO.
Step 5: Ripper Blu-Ray on PC via network favorites.
Step 6: Burn with ImgBurn (or CloneCD) in 1X on the PC or has been ripped game

All the details are available to view at haxnetwork (However the site some months ago was virus infested for us so be careful).

I guess that means you cant do this on the Mini consoles

at first glance im skeptical but this would explain sony's reason for taking otheros out of the slims and to stop producing the fats i always suspected the firs exploit would have something to do with linux but still skeptical ill wait for more info while i save up for a bluray burner

thats cause thats all maxconsole can get translated if you can find someone who speaks french you may get a better understanding

And again I say its fake...

1. He put a white label on the original pes2008 disc and tell us its a backup.

2. Its bull++++ about making backups with winxp under vm running in the ps3... It works directly from win with liteon BR burner... (many new BR burners can read PS3 discs)

3. I tested it already with KZ2 and Burnout on my pal 60gb.

...and finally it doesnt work !!!

Believe me, its 100% fake!!!

Its not confirmed yet. The person who made that post only had one post and registered on the site nearly 2 years ago so his argument is most likely not credible.

Edit: Two from Hax Network claimed to have tested it and said it worked.

I have a Blu-ray writer in my pc and also CloneCD. The program will only read/write CD's and DVD's it wont read/write blu-ray disks, which most PS3 games are on.

Yeah, same as what raulpica said. Unless it's been removed by YouTube themselves (which isn't likely) then it's gotta be fake.
Shame, because piracy on the PS3 would highly bump it's sales up.

So he claims to dump a PS3 game by installing Windows XP in a virtual machine running in Linux (that can be installed pretty easily on old PS3's) with CloneCD? And then he simply burns the image and runs the game? No way that's true!

I don't think piracy will have a huge impact anyway when the Blu-Ray burners and discs are so expensive. Either the equipment gets a lot cheaper (and that's probable when the PS3 is hacked and you need Blu-Rays to burn games) or there will be some kind of USB Loader.

Things can only get cheaper, and if all you need is Blu-ray discs and a burner for lifetime free PS3 games then people will do it.

The current dumps of PS3 games are missing a security layer.
Maybe using this method they can copy everything which results in the game running fine?
