PS3 3.60 PSN authentication system kicks CFW users off PSN?

Today, Sony is currently performing "sporadic PSN maintenance", which in the end may cause a devastating result to custom firmware users. Some sites are reporting that Sony has finally enabled the 3.60 PSN authentication system. The new auth system was found hiding in Sony's new 3.60 firmware, which was introduced last week. The new authentication system would mean an end to PSN access for current custom firmware users.

Users with CFW have not been able to get back onto the Playstation Network since seeing the following message.

“We are expecting sporadic PSN maintenance from approx 9am-3pm PST Thursday 03/17/2011. We apologize for the inconvenience.”

However, as stated in the message, it appears maintenance is on going for several more hours. We ask our users to post their results when trying to get on the PSN throughout the day today. We'll keep you posted should anything develop in this ongoing story.

Man im soo lucky that i have installed CFW on my PS3... It got stolen (check my signaure) and now, the peeps who jacked it cant play online with all the online enabled games they took too. Take that sukerz. And to make things better, my new ps3 should arrive tomorro, with a 250 gb hard drive, sd card slot, backwards compatibility, fat. Perfect. Sucks for everyone with CFW. Im lucky i didnt decied to buy a ps3 break dongle or any other clones/dongles

I haven't kept up lately, but last I checked there were none.

there is one however is only for jp region games

but they do not need a cheat device as they can just edit game files from the dumped game to cheat along with save game editing

No. There was never a 3.60 FuckPSN. It was just an update to make things run smoother. Also, according to a reliable scene hacker, Mathieulh, it seems like it's quite easy to spoof this update.

I'll wait to see what the scene will deliver. Sure it'll be something very good.

Ah yes. It was intentionally made for 3.56 but just happened to work with 3.60 however. I'll have to reassure, but I am pretty sure it was that.

you have to be fair to sony since most CFW users are pirates (correct me). Therefore to use their service, follow their rules and it seems fair to me. But the message is not ethical
