PS1/2 PS2's Dead

I'm gonna get Swap Magic pretty soon (though very late for me since I've had my ps2 almost since launch) so I can finally play some Guitar Hero as well as a few older games I missed out on. Not only that, but I still have a few of my purchased games that I need to finish up.

So no, for me the ps2 is not going away for a good long while

Manhunt 2, Metal Slug Anthology, Fahrenheit (finished on PC but PS2 is something else), FF XII, Dragon Quest VIII (will not finish it, but i have to buy it, cant resist, its a SE game), Front Mission 4, Okami, (rpg)dragon quest VIII

The GBA is slowly dying so the PS2 will suffer this fate too...
However, since it has so many classic games, we're all going to be playing it on our uber-futuristic awesome hyperclocked PC's.

E.G: A very long time from now on VS2 (Visual station 2)

PS2 is not that yet, and might still "hang around" for some time thanks to the Wii.. lot's of Wii titles are getting PS2 ports, since the Wii is not much more powerful than the PS2 (well.. actually, it is.. but people insist in doing games for the Wii that probably a PSX could run

) then a port to PS2 becomes easy to do: "just take out the wiggly controls and you have a Ps2 game".. so, lot's of companies are doing that!

i think it's more of a case of they develop a PS2 game, then add the (poorly implemented) wiggly controls and you have a Wii game. but the only companies doing that sort of thing are the companies making shite games, anyway.

well, except Okami. but that really is a case of the controls being better suited to the Wii, rather than a half-arsed attempt to make a quick buck.

Sony PS3 wants PS3 to succeed but at the same time they are also advertising the PS2 as if it's still in it's prime.

Consumers can either buy the slim PStwo that's out with a huge selection of library of games or the expensive and bulky PS3 where the newer models lack the PS2 support.

I do like the PS2 but really, this cow has been milked enough. Just let it rest peacefully

I think thanks to the lack of decent games on the PS3, the PS2 is still chugging along, after what, nearly a decade? Cripes.

Developers that need a little more oomph graphically than the Wii can produce seem to be going over to XB360.

Of course, this would all change if MGS4, FFV13, or the new KH game comes out in the near future. Maybe. I heard thanks to the production costs of MGS4, it would need to sell like a million copies opening day to recoup production costs.

PS2's still alive in my heart! I just replaced my laser lens this past weekend to get rid of skipping FMV/DVD and Dual Layer reading issues and I'm good as new. I still have tons, tons, TONS of games I've burned but haven't gotten around to.

Still, I'm replaying Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne right now because it's my favorite RPG.

Long live this great console.

there was Thunder Strike there too, i remmeber i had a VERY good time with it on my PC, maybe get that too.
i went there in order to get FF XII mainly but he was out of it.

god, ObsCure 2's graphics are like next gen, really. and its music is AWeSOME.
