I have a fat PS2 and I bought a 3rd party network adapter that has a sata hard drive slot and when I plug in a 2.5inch sata drive its not resting on anything, it's just kinda floating in the expansion bay. I'm worried it'll break off. Anyone have a solution or a similar experience ?

I use an SSD and yes,as you said,it is "floating around".:D

And I made it also as

I had a similar situation and just put a small piece of craft foam in there to help support it. A folded up paper towel might work too.

solves.

Thank you.:)

That sounds cool but would the paper towel affect anything with overheating.

I also had the "fear" of heat while I was using an SATA HDD before-
This was the Reason to try an SSD and this does not even get warm.
So no worries because of Overheating.

By the Way,SSD works for my 3rd Party Adapter better/more compatible as the SATA HDDs.:)

Thank you.:)

Well don't use the entire paper towel; just tear off a piece and fold it. You only need maybe 5mm of supported area out at the end of the harddrive. No need to fill the entire cavity with paper towel and choke it out.

EDIT:
I just realized I forgot to mention I actually attached the foam to the harddrive with some very light glue (specifically "Tack-It Over & Over" glue... it's basically post-it note kind of reusable sticky). Without that information I can see why you'd think I was saying to just fill the whole cavity with paper towels.
