Hi,

I want to try to play games by using the network abilities of a PS2 slim, and I want to know if I have to use a crossover cable or if I can use a normal ethernet cable.

It depends on what you are plugging it into on the other end.
If you're going to a hub or switch or router then a straight one will do.
If it's going straight to a pc or a nas then you'll probably need a crossover.

Some modern network adapters even auto detect whether they should do the crossover themselves (I think gigabit ports generally do).
