I'm going to be redoing my AV setup in the future but I need to decided if I'm going to hook up my PS1 or not as I want to also be able to play e.g. imports, etc.
Currently I have a PS2 softmodded with an 80GB internal IDE HDD with component and an old PS1 with a Parallel port (but no cheat cart) and SCART.
If I understand correctly, the current methods for the PS2 would either be to use a modchip (not an option for me) or to use PS2PSXe/popsloader, both of which can have compatibility issues or to use my original PS1 with a swap disc or to use the gameshark with the I/O port.
Anyone have experience with these methods? Can you please say which one is more recommended or is there something I've missed?
Even then, are there still additional reasons I might want to use the original over the PS2 e.g. bad upscaling?
