ok so i noticed something about the ps vita hacking community , why is everyone focusing on hacking the vita and turning it into a psp ? i mean isn't there any CFW for the vita that runs vita games ? like isos or something ? is it possible ?
why not focusing on breaking its security and trying to extract an image of the vita's roms ? ( game cards ) where you can put them in the memory card and playing just like in the psp ?

I'm sure some people are doing it, but it's significantly more difficult. And to answer your initial question, no, no Vita CFW or anything similar.

I'm more worried about some one releasing a grip for the 1000 model that adds extra triggers so I can be free from the touch pad. The slim has one so why not the phat one!

Honestly, if more people used PSX Download Helper, getting Vita PKGs would be no problem. The thing is that there's no way to install the PKGs on most firmwares because A) there's either no PKG installer access or B) the actual installation requires having a license on the device, and no one has gotten around that restriction yet.

well i think when the PSP was released the situation was like this , even though there wasn't any online restrictions like now on the vita , but it was hacked a few years later so i hope the same happens to the vita , because come on ! most of the JRPGs and japanese vita games are 60$ , i mean why ? PSP games were cheaper back in the day .... i don't know , i just hope the vita gets a CFW and some PKGs so we can download them , because there is no way i am paying 60$ for a handheld game ... no

the psp was hacked almost right after release, with running native code homebrew, then later for 1.50 with swaploit, than kxploit and lumines being the first iso running

oh for real ? then why didn't they do the same for the vita? isn't it possible somehow ? to run a native CFW ?

If it's that easy, then hack it yourself. Be famous. Money, women, respect, cocaine, all you could ask for.

before you could dress like a cowboy rob a bank and never get caught by the police

so by your logic, can i still rob a bank dressed as a cowboy running away with my horse and never get caught?

moral of the story: security changes, holes are patched, as technology improves its harder and harder to find flaws...

Hahaha, this guy thinks it's because we aren't focusing on it. Let me tell you, if getting warez to run was easy, you would have seen it by now.

And this is why people can't have nice things. ;)

Yifan Lu's Rejuvenate project is already a stable and powerful platform for homebrew development. You should be grateful for having something like it considering how much of a nightmare the Vita's security is.
People are focusing on breaking the Vita's security and it's already possible to extract a game card's contents. However, these are the kind of things that serve no purpose to share other than give unpatched bugs and exploits in a silver platter to Sony. :\
