Hi,
I was just given a PS1 (original) complete in box.
The previous owner said it was modified for backups but could not remember what or how (well after some text messages he said that he remembered that the lid should stay open and with some spring contraption placed in such a way that the ps1 thinks the lid is closed..... the spring was indeed inside the cd compartment).
There was also a binder with some backups.
When I unpacked it there was a dongle inside which connects to the backside (at the left side when looking from the back) in some parallel port?
The name on the cartrdige is 'Game Cracker'.
When I boot the ps1 with the cartrdige connected I enter a menu with options like play, play imported/backup, play with code and a few more.
But, whatever I do : when I choose play there is a grey (like in inactive) message on screen just saying 'start', when I choose play imported/backups the system thinks there is an Audio CD inside. I tried 6 or 7 different backups.
Original ps1 games play fine either without the cartridge or with (choosing the 'play' option from menu).
So
Has anybody ever seen such a device and if so give me some information on how to start the backups.
Thanks
