I am not a much of a clumsy person, for the most part. I have had accidents in the past with my devices but overall I would say I take pretty good care of my things. I was just wondering if most Nintendo Switch owners have been using protective accessories? I was thinking about using one but really haven't made a decision yet. Still asking and looking around for a good reason to buy or pass on this.

Screen protector only. The only case I use is for travelling.

I was at Best Buy last night and came across this product and was considering in purchasing it, but then I thought if I would really need it and if most Nintendo Switch owners use one for their handheld? Perhaps there is one out that is better than this one?

Here is what I came across.

That's the case I use, It works great. only issue I have is when I use a dongle you have to push it in, it won't stay. other than that great case.

It says dockable, is it comfortable going in & out of the dock with it on, doesn't make it any harder?

Its great in the dock. Overall a great case, If you are using a dongle it won't click in. You have to push the dongle in, hold and wait for your boot. Other than that no issues. I have the Smoky colored one on my Grey switch, Looks nice.

If a carrying case is what you seek, this is the one I have.

    https://www.pdp.com/en/starter-kit-zelda-sheikah-eye

This case is made by PDP and is the same construction as the one included in the collectors edition BOTW package.(Also by PDP) This has a Sheikah Eye. The collectors edition was the Sheikah Slate. I think this is far better looking. They have a Mario themed version, A Mario Kart version and a Guardian version that are all the same construction. This thing is robust. It has a bit of weight to it and will definitely protect your console. I have managed to fit the console,a travel dock, a travel AC adapter, both JoyCon Straps. Headphones, My Hori D-Pad Joycon ,the cloth and the usb-C cable and it's not tight. This is the best case I have seen. It is RUGGED.

I don't use the Grip covers or Analog stick caps. They kind of suck IMHO. I have a set of Silicone caps that are much nicer. And the Thin case has a good set of JoyCon Covers. I might mention that the Joycons don't fit in the grip with the covers on . But the switch does fit in the dock with the thin case. (As previously stated)

Now to get the HDD portable. How about this?

    https://www.play-asia.com/portable-table-mode-usb-hub-stand-for-nintendo-switch/13/70bxxp

I think it needs external power though. Any Tempers have one of these? Looks clean. Maybe with a battery pack and a SDD it will be okay for OTG HDD play. Might be able to modify it to hold the SSD. ill get one soon. Otherwise an OTG cable will fit in the Deluxe case. and maybe a separate case for the HDD would be in order. If I left out a few things a HDD might fit in the Case as well.

I only use my travelcase when I'm moving around the Switch outside. Else it's more or less docked.

Me too, That's a travel solution. At home, docked with thin case on. I also used this Screen protector.

    https://www.amazon.com/Officially-Licensed-Screen-Protective-Nintendo-Switch/dp/B01MR725H2

NOT the premium one.. This is plastic and feels like the stock screen. I don't need glass. My switch should never encounter keys. This protector works great for me. No air spots. The screen looks perfect. And it was inexpensive. I like it.

Thinking about an 8-bit Do SNES30 Pro and I will be complete for now ;)

The Mumba cases seem the most durable. I was able to buy a new Mumba case for $8.95 on eBay. That's a steal for such a durable case

They look nice but you can't dock with them on. Deal breaker to me. I know the thin case is not that much protection. It is just to protect from MINOR drops and scratches. That PDP case is built like a tank. It's great for travel.

    I was looking at this,
    https://www.ijetech.com/product/nintendo-switch-case-5837.html/

Its like the mumba kinda. I still like the dock-able option.

Easy fix. This is what you need. Use your Switch in dock mode without actually docking it. It doesn't even get hot. I have this and love it. $11 at Amazon

I have one! They are a bit of a pain sometimes. I still like the thin case better. It works in all modes. Docked, tabletop and handheld. Jtech and mumba are great for handheld but don't work in tabletop or docked modes. Deal-breaker to me. I don't drop my system. I am careful. The case is just precautionary.

I understand. I always put my switch back in my Amazon basics case when I'm not playing it. It's a hard shell case that my daughter who's 30 pounds has stood on once. Didn't do any damage to it. My Mumba case is precautionary as well. I play in docked mode only. After playing on a 50 inch screen, I can not play on the switch's small screen
