hi, so i remember reading about that newer 3ds games, you cannot use a tool to backup and restore the save file, well, if you do, the save will not work, or something like that.

and i think i read that with animal crossing, maybe some more games, pokemon?, but:
a key is saved to the 3ds each time you save? and the key needs to match up with the one in the save file? something like that right? some protection so you cannot copy your save file, maybe i have this confused...

but, i'm confused since, if they have something like that protection, how can it be possible to play the game on another 3ds console?
thanks

This seems to only apply to e-shop games.

I was able to switch my Pokemon X between both my 3DS and XL easily.
I lost no save data in the process.

Only the friendlist was "seemingly" updated.
