Hacking problems with my wii :(

Im having problems playing games on the wii, i think its because my brother was messing around installing cios files and just messed up some where.
So since my wii is on 3.2e right now with a messed up cioscorp and gamma and preloader I was thinking i should do an update that way i could start from scratch and reinstall everything.

If I have the 4.0e firmware would I be then able to install the wads and cios files?

Before you do anything install BootMii and to a NAND backup incase you screw up your Wii

should I update it from my wii or did wanaikoko and wiigator find another way XD
