Homebrew Problems installing Salthax

I am on system version 10.3, and my method of booting homebrew is menuhax. I would like to install salthax instead because I have Citizens of Earth, and I would like to add some new themes I purchased. However, even though I am told to use HBL 1.1.1 with mmap support, when I try to load the installer, HBL freezes.
Help will be appreciated!

When I launch HBL, I just get an 'error has occurred' message as soon as the splash screen appears. I can boot into the Home Menu fine though.

Yes, but I have installed a partial update to retain online functionality on my lower version, which brought my 3DS version number from 10.3.0.28E to 10.3.0.33E. I tried both payloads for these versions and they give the same result.

So, Menuhax works fine but not Humblehax?

Now it seems that menuhax doesn't work. After deleting the payloads from the root of my SD, I still get the 'error has occurred' message. So at least for now, I have no access to homebrew.

Try replacing the starter.zip files. (But use the latest boot.3dsx)

I just tried it, but i still got the same result. I'm guessing something happened to the theme that allowed to to boot into HBL, but I have no other way to access homebrew.
