Hi, everyone

Since a few weeks, Metroid Prime 2 decided to be weird :

Sometimes, when I advance in a room and I shoot to open a door, the door remains locked (No blue light on it).
I go back to the door I came from : locked it too.

When I try to quit from the ''Home'' menu (meaning, pressing ''Home'' button and go to the Wii Dashboard), it freeze on a black screen.

I also seen, on the map ; Only the room who appears on the mini-map (top corner right) are showing inside the world map menu.
And once I try to go somewhere else (meaning, loading for example : Agon Waste while being in Trovus Bog), it freezes.

Details about my Wii :

Homebrew Channel : 1.0.8 with IOS61 (V21.29)
Using : USB Loader GX V 2.3 r1123 (Rev 20)
Using an USB key as a HDD since my external HDD decided to fuck up.

Details about USB Loader GX settings I'm using :

Game Load (Settings for Metroid Prime Trilogy)

Sneek Video Patch : Use Global
Game Language : Use Global
Patch Country Strings : Use Global

try using modmii to upgrade your wii with the latest softmod.

Also the nice thing about metroid prime 1 and 2 games is you could always get the gamecube version and play with nintendont.

Update USB Loader GX first. r1123 is very old.

MPT doors not opening is a cIOS problem. It also happens if you try to use NAND save emulation. If you're using a WBFS partition (not files) the game could have also gotten corrupted.

Thank you for answering my question ;)

But, Metroid Prime Trilogy always worked flawless until few weeks ago (around chirstmas).
I decided to play all 3, but I begun with the first one.

Weirdly, the game was working fine until I decided to play the second.

At that time, the game was on an external HDD. The HDD begun to be very hot so, i stopped playing it for a day.
What it did was simple : lags, freezing, taking too much time to load... I thaught it was the HDD the problem, so I putted the game on a USB key.

Maybe the USB key is faulty because this USB had issues in the past, meaning : losing connection to the computer, decide to erase everything.

That does sound like a failing flash drive. Physical HDDs tend to do the same thing when they're dying. They get connection errors because they can't be read or written to at some point.

I wouldnt be surprised since the issues dont happen at the same place ;)
Sometime, it was in the beginning
For now, just right after Dark Samus 1 (with a bugy boss music, keeping the same ''part of the music'' playing in repeat).
The cinematic worked flawless, just right after going to grab the ''Dark Beam'' or ''Dark suit'' (i forgot which i get first)

I'll retry with another HDD or USB key if it works.

For now, I just have this one since, the other I has... its a 8Go, but contains only 7.24 Go, so not enough place for Metroid Prime Trilogy

Go grab a copy of Dolphin and use it to check the integrity of the game partition. That sounds like a corrupt disc image.

Well, I made multiple back-up for Metroid Prime Trilogy :

One stayed inside the HDD (the one which still alright, I didnt had any issues about the HDD with WBFS Manager 2.5)
One on my computer (Which was from the HDD)

Maybe the one on my comptuer was weird since this was the one i put on my USB Key

And for Dolphin, it is an emulator? (GC / Wii Emulator)
If yes, well... Since my computer has issues with Minecraft at the lowest quality, I'm not sure if I could have freezing issues

Well, 15 FPS, I'm surprised my pc didnt exploded yet

If you're using WBFS as a partition type and WBFS Manager that's probably part of the problem. WBFS as a drive partition scheme is old and not really a good idea anymore and WBFS Manager has a habit of corrupting games.

You don't need to run the game in Dolphin, just right-click on it in the game list and go to Properties>Filesystem and right-click on the game partition then select the option to check it.

My USB Key was formated to be WBFS Drive type one.
I used this manager to put Metroid Prime Trilogy on my USB Key.

For the backup on my Computer : No Error has been found
For the one on my USB key, I restarted the whole process; I formated my key and I added the game into it

So, how I can play Wii games on an USB key with a Loader without having an WBFS Drive ?

I, now, updated WBFS Manager to the 3.0.1

Just format it FAT 32 Primary and use WBFS to install your game on it... That's it...

Don't use WBFS Manager. It corrupts games. Use Wii Backup Manager and it can put the game on a regular FAT32 drive.

WBFS Manager supports FAT32??
That I have never heard of. Are you sure your drive is FAT32? Can your PC read the drive natively without using WBFS manager?

WBFS Manager was able to read it, but my PC doesn't.
It was written ''FAT 32'' in the Windows Explorer.

Now, I just formated the USB key as ''FAT32'' with ''wfbs'' folder in it, works but, problem not solved.

Anyway, I found the problem : my USB key keep disconnecting by itself.

I just deplugged it and replugged it, and it worked again.
Each time the problem appear, i deplug-replug it and works. So, I have to buy another USB Key, I guess XD I feel stupid, now

Thank you for helping me to solve the problem ;)
