Hardware problem upgrading sd card...

Long time lurker on gba, first time posting because i am stumped.

ill start by saying i have a working 256 samsung sd card(fat32), boots hekate, boots sxos, boots atmosphere. no issue.

i purchased a 512 gb pny card from best buy(seemed legit/not counterfeit) formatted to fat32 on pc,
used the hdd raw copy tool to copy everything over to the new card.
insert new card, boot hekate, hekate reads/benchmarks good
try to start any cfw and i get a failed to init cart( on atmosphere) or boot error RSOD (on sxos)
test old card, old card works, try new card again, same error,
tried complete re-format, downloaded and updated hekate, sxos, atmosphere fresh installs and still have the same error.

did i just get a bad card? it reads fine on my computer and benchmarks on hekate fine.... not sure what else to do at this point.

Did you had a hidden emunand? If not you could just format the new card and copy everything over normally though.

i tried copy pasting and also using the hdd raw tool, both resulted in the same error.. the only thing i can possibly think of is that the PNY card is like microscopically thinner then my old card and maybe getting a bad/semi connection at the reader.. the only issue i have with that is that it benchmarks fine in hekate...

I can also use the usb mass storage tool in hekate and read the card from my computer through my switch, so it is registering all the files on my card...

You didn't answer what I asked , I asked if you had a hidden emunand partition on the old SD card

There are no hidden partitions on the old card, that I can see.

Then just format the new card and copy and paste everything over from the old card.

may as well test the first with H2testw to see if it is bootleg.

went to walmart and bought a new sandisk 256gb (biggest they had...smh) loaded sdsetup and it worked right away. if anyone is thinking of buying the 512gb pny elite card from best buy for a switch upgrade id stay away. it passed the H2testw but for some reason i could not get that stupid card to boot any cfw... weird.
