he was asking about preloader not cioscorp. preloader could be unistalled by installing a system menu .wad again and the .ini can be removed with preloader hack.ini remover. that's the info i had in the back of my head. maybe i am wrong in some points.

Uninstallation

Is it possible to easily uninstall this? Because I've read in a few places that it impossible easily to uninstall, and the only way to uninstall it is by using a new SysMenu WAD. --Murkantor 07:28, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

Maybe AnyTitle Deleter? Jdcx95 20:42, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

Well I don't think you can uninstall it, but basically if you just set the preloader to disable and delete the hacks.ini on your sd. It would be just the same as uninstalled.

It's ok, I managed to uninstall it. I ripped the 3.2E SysMenu and used a WAD installer to reinstall. And to my research, AnyTitle Deleter would brick the Wii. Since Preloader just renames the SysMenu and puts it's own .DOL in it's place, the Wii wouldn't find a .DOL on Boot, so it won't boot. But this app is a good idea (Just like BootMii...), the only thing it lacks is an easy uninstallation.

What about using AnyRegion Changer and downgrade to 3.2.. --WiiCracker 18:17, 14 January 2009 (UTC)

I think theres now an uninstaller on the main page of this article. Jdcx95 21:22, 14 January 2009 (UTC)

I couldn't get AnyRegion Changer to work, and I couldn't find the "Remover" either... --Murkantor 16:49, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

If you have an attachment to the Wiimote when rebooting or loading system menu the screen hangs where code is displayed. Unplug the attachment and resetting fixes the problem.

That's what I get for answering questions as soon as I wake up!

Ok, so I did need to rename the ntsc.dol to sysmenu.dol and it worked better... still some dumps though... I think these could be easily fixed by someone... If this works...it could end up being a half/way descent dashboard to use with preloader... Probably nothing as good as Forsaekn's work to come...Anyways it's good to know we are still alive and kicking with ideas and tweaks to make some of these things work a little smoother...

Today I am going to dedicate some of my time to making a custom system menu myself...with a nice edited safety/health screen. But first I need to wait until my newer copy of ADOBE.CREATIVE.SUITE.4.MASTER.COLLECTON.DD.MULTILANGUAGE-ISO finishes so I can try it out... My Corel Paint shop went on the fritz....and a good friend recommends this for image making...so here I go... wish I had a tablet to play about with...

Anyways... @Wiicrazy... I since I did retry what the spanish guy recompiled and it was working better... maybe you and the spanish guy with an Ether translater can work on this some more?? it would be great to see this as a "dashboard"... also Sqidman hangs out in efnet #wadder if that could help??

Well that dashboard is already available actually... named wiimu (http://www.wiibrew.org/wiki/WiiMU) , it's being written by crediar and squidman... it has the ability to launch channels and game discs and other stuff... and now preloader can be their autoboot platform I guess...

I don't have much time actually for all this stuff... I'll try to improve the menu patching though if I find time... And I guess I'm too old to hang out in irc among kids... well...

QUOTE(Rocco Savadgie @ Jan 21 2009, 08:48 PM) Is there a hack.ini entry to fix ERROR 001 for people with old chips?

ERROR 001 patch is done on the game executable afaik, not on the system menu

post this here too since its relevant... Someone with a pal wii with region free working through starfall please send me a copy of your system menu (00000001/00000002/content/0000043.app)

A guy here says he came up with an ERROR001 fix on his custom system menu -> http://gbatemp.net/index.php?s=&showto...t&p=1549369

Might it be possible to turn his method into a hack.ini?

Well there are only words there... no implementation details, nothing.. better ask it to forsaekn

I know that you know you mean the 46.app digity, but others (who could provide it) might not

so the preloader remover doesn't actually remove the preloader from the nand but instead just removes the hacks that may have been installed?

Here is my example:

I took my wii 3.2U, installed preloader. (hacks.ini file in root of SD card)
I restared wii and held restart and preloader options showed up.
I told it to autostart HBC
I restarted to test it out and it does autostart HBC before anything else. GREAT!

Now, I ran "remove_preloader_hacks" dol from HBC and it says successful.
I took out SD card and restarted wii (no access to hacks.ini)
Restarted wii and it still autostarted to HBC.

So it didn't actually remove the preloader?

Sorry to sound like a noob, but I'm just kind of confused as to what the "remove_preloader_hacks" actually does.

To officially REMOVE the preloader from the NAND, I need to reinstall the system menu then right?

and the hacks are just the starfall type options right?

I just want to make sure I know EVERYTHING about this so I am more knowledgeable...sorry for being a pest guys.

So if I go in and tell it to make the health warning a back menu and save it and then use the preloader hacks remover, it removes that hack right?

Is there any other way to remove the preloader without using the actual system menu? Because I also have cioscorp installed and that will remove the cioscorp too right?

yes it removes all the hacks, even the back menu/health warning, and if you install a SysMenu.wad only will delete the preloader installed in it, the CIOScorp will stay in your Wii...!!!
