If this works the way i believe it works , and i havent the time to test it now , but if it does it may kill the expected bootmii sales
It won't kill any Bootmii "sales" because they aren't selling it any more than they've sold the HBC or TP Hack. And Bootmii is a totally different hack anyway.
Yes indeed...

Now stop thinking that debugger is the BootMii as like you guys think it work like SafeMii...

It is SOFTWARE based!

And FREE!

And 1337!

KTHNXBYE

I get this preloader working no problem , but my system menu is now telling me its corrupt
Im waiting on IronMask to sort me out with a proper system menu , hopefully that will fix it for me.

Not sure what happened - homebrew channel still works fine , all games load through that - all apps in that work fine - loading a DOL directly like say backuploader , it loads in all black but i get sounds

loading system menu i get - your system files are corrupt ... please contact nintendo ... blah blah.

Im not too pushed as i have HBC , but its just a minor warning to people

what version is your systemmenu ? Also that error doesn't really mean your systemmenu is corrupted.

Am I missing something or does Boot--> dol not work.

I tried injecting 3 different .dols so far and it wont boot with any of them. I've tried Wad Manager, Menu Loader and Reloader. I understad why the second two won't work but I expected Wad Manager would. Or do I have the concept of what the Install/Load DOL function is doing? I was gonna uninstall Starfall to see if there was conflicts with it which i expect, but now with a semi-brick i'm a little cautions. If I get some feedback that nodody else is getting it to boot the installed dol then I'll go ahead and reinstall system menu and try this without starfall.

What is the point of this? Does it load Gamecube Backups or anything? If not, there is NO point to install this whatsoever. If you have 3.2 backup loader and starfall you HAVE all this functionality. This is wasted effort that could be put into something that ISN'T yet implemented.

Ahh, okay.

To find these lines... you need a USB Gecko?
Or what?

Thanks,

QUOTEYou need a system menu disassembly, search the byte array in the system menu disassembly... find where is patched... get that address and put the address along with the patch value to the hacks.ini...

Ok... but what Disassembler I should use?

Sorry for that question... you may saw that one coming...?

I'm hunting for the nocopy patches at the moment... actually you don't need specifically need disassembler...
to answer your question, it's of course ida...

I'm modifying my system menu patcher to get the addresses for the nocopy patch... there are five of them... possibly will end up in the hacks.ini file as more entries...

it's the 3rd thread where you post that bs in. just shut the fuck up!

The purpose of this is further brick prevention - not to load backups etc...

If we can get it to do that, its a bonus.

Damn.....Read up.

Jizmo - I havent managed to get it to load a dol either, i have tried menuloader, patcher, and also wad manager.

No problems tho bar that.

Hey IronMask - Did you uninstall CIOSCORP before you went and installed this?

I never uninstalled anything. I installed this over top everything (starfall as well) and when I chose settings in the "hold reset in while powering on config menu" I went to settings and everything I had set in starfall was as it was in starfall when it was originally installed.

I am not having any problems with it besides the obvious for menu patch/loader .dols.

I havent got to check out every .dol to see what autoboots, but what I have checked on works. I still love the reset button feature. Thats nice.

I am still working it out... as everyone else is doing that wants this to be incorporate with forcing video modes.

ok, so once this is installed, does it run by default? I mean if I turn on the wii normally (using the power button) does this automatically start or do I hold reset and this will boot?

Here is results from a couple .dol files that i installed and set autoboot to DOL.

1. Menu Loader: When Wii boots menu loader loads and you can change values, but when you hit launch it executes something and returns to menu loader options.
Maybe need a hook or some other kind of return call changed to a load system menu command.

2. Wad Manager 1.3: I get a black screen at boot and system is froze. No idea why.

It loads automatically.

If you hold reset down while the unit is powering up, it will bring up the preloader options menu.

From there, you can set it to autoboot to system menu,HBC, dol etc.

Once you set it to autoboot x - remember, to stop this you need to hold reset it to get the options up again.

You should be fine now.

is the autoboot the only option? I guess even after reading the original thread about the preloader I can't figure out the benefits. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there ARE benefits, I just can't seem to figure them out.

I would much rather have the option to boot this ONLY if I need it (Ex. Banner Brick so this would autoboot Wad Manager or if you screw something up and can autoboot a program to restore a backed up NAND, etc.)

EDIT: OHHHHHH, so I CAN make this autoboot the System Menu? Once this is installed, does it stay installed or do I need the SD Card?
EDIT 2: Don't worry guys, I'll just try it out instead of asking a million questions.

It stays installed - once you select the hacks you want, it copies them to the nand.

So, yea - set it to autoboot system menu and when u get a banner brick say, hold reset - set it to autoboot hbc or whatver and fix as required.

Bobs your uncle
