also for the hacks.ini, is there supposed to be repeated patches?
like this?

[Replace healthwarning with backmenu]
version=290
offset=0x81626708
value=0x813EADF8
[Region free Wii games]
version=290
offset=0x813798C0
value=0x38600001
[Region free Wii games]
version=290
offset=0x81377B6C
value=0x38000001
... snip...

how there are two "Region free Wii games" and two "Region free GC games"?

If patch contains more than a single value patch then it's specified with those specific addressses more than once... for all the nocopy patches for example you need 8 entries like that...

by the way could someone run this [http://www.tepetaklak.com/data/crazymenunocopy.rar]
and tell me the 5 addresses it print outs?
preferably a ntsc user... weird thing I found the initial two nocopy patches in the exact same place or my crt tv really sucks...

all it does search for the nocopy search strings and prints the addresses where it founds them... after 60 seconds it will boot the wii into recovery mode... (was lazy to comment those parts in the code)

it will say patch code found at [address] 5 times...

NTSC 3.2U / Starfall / CIOSCORP / Preloader 0.25

Entry 1: Patch Not Found
Entry 2: Patch Not Found
Entry 3: 81330934
Entry 4: 8133268C
Entry 5: 812457B4

Also, hey anyone else get a code dump when they try the rebooter with Gamma now?

not with preloader or anything, just trying gamma by its self.

Yes, I do. I dont think anybody has been able to get any dols to autoboot properly yet. Which unfortunately was my main desire for something like this.
An alternative to Twilight Hack

EDIT: Gamma rebooter code dumps where run from system menu or autoboot dol.

im not talking about autoboot =P

im talking about just starting up Gamma, then trying rebooter within Gamma

and what is everyone talking about, ive got Gamma autobooting fine, its just gamma (by its self, not with preloader) wont reboot anymore>.<

Ya, i was editing my post while you were posting this one. I'm gonna reinstall system menu and try this again but without starfall this time.

Great release.THX Crediar and the peeps around him!
That makes testing on the wii much saver.

I also tried several dols, but all I get is a code dump.
Anyway, the possibility to boot the HBC when bricked is best.

Can't wait to see the gurus bring out tons of hack.ini files

I'm ready to test!

//edit:
To make this release more complete, I would like to see a "preloader uninstaller", plz.

Interesting... diffusion's match with mine... 3.2u + starfall
Why it founds the exact same addresses for the first two patches is completely bizarre to me... I may have a look at it tomorrow...

btw, can someone test the rest of the nocopy patches (3,4,5) for ntsc 3.2u

[Nocopy3]
version=289
offset=0x81332A54
value=0x38600001
[Nocopy4]

[Nocopy5]

[Nocopy5]

[Nocopy5]

maybe someone spots the mistake

if thats true, why didnt he implement all of the starfall patches? and only those 4 or 5?
main thing i wanted was the update blocker and the recovery mode. (or are these not needed with this or something?)

I know im askin a good amount of questions, but i just want to get things straight. ^^

It's just a single word patch.. I'm sure you'll be having it soon...

Yeah the update blocker would be nice.

...oh and the region patch still doesn't fix the CIOSCORP region issues, but it seemed to show the disk info in the disk channel!

You mean block updates off the game disks? This does that, before I installed preloader, okami wanted an update. After I installed this, it ran without issues.

That said, this is definitely interesting, I see some good uses for this involving the dol booter and linux.

hey, could the fact that we can't autoboot certain dols have to do with the fact that preloader always loads IOS30 before loading dols?s

No it's because it replaces the system menu dol

Actually renames... so what system menu patchers get is the preloader's dol...

so rebooters should be modified to load the modified dol and execute that....

I did a reinstall of System Menu and reinstalled PreLoader 0.25

Everything worked ok with the installs, but it did not help the boot from DOL issue. dols still not booting.

Are they confirmed or need to be tested?
What about the bcackground music? You have the offsets ?

Iiiiiiiiishit..!!! I was trying to install a SysMenu to get rid of it when an error appears at the screen in the middle of the installation, so the Wii restart itself and the preloader config screen appears saying that SysMenu couldn't be loaded, so I take the SD out and change the SysMenu.wad for another one that I had, and told preloader to boot into HBC, then use the wad manager again to install this other SysMenu.wad that I have, and the installation went terrific, so, yeah that preloader is a great app, but it messes to much with the SysMenu, so the uninstalling process is really dangerous, so think twice before install this...!!!
