Hacking Preloaded Ak2i?

Hi, i recently bought 2 Ak2i from shoptemp just before they closed down. I ordered them with 2 x 2gb micro sd cards and the premium flashing service. The first thing i noticed; they were the x-mas edition, i dont mind, actually its better, i was just commenting. But i just plugged in the sd cards to load firmware on and it seems they've already loaded it with firmware and a load of homebrew apps, emulators & games. Do i need to update the firmware for it to work on a 1.4.1 dsi?

It won't hurt the cart or anything to try. But...that's still..pretty weird.

no i havn't tried cause the dsis are meant to be my brothers' Christmas presents so i don't want to upackage it all or anything. Just set up the ak2i with some games etc all ready to play on the dsi

If you ordered it with the flashing service that's what they do, they update it for 1.4.1 and put the latest AKAIO (at the time) on it along with some homebrew and such.

No, 1.8.1 is the latest.
