The Switch 2 will obviously be more powerful than the Switch and with that increase in power comes better performance in emulators. We won't know for sure how emulation performance on the system will be until the Switch 2 gets hacked. For now here are my predictions on how emulators on the Switch 2 will perform:

-Gamecube will have much better performance and frame rates than Switch 1. I'm not expecting 100% compatibility but the vast majority of titles will be playable.
-Wii performance will also be improved compared to Switch 1. Games will have higher and more consistent frame rates.
-PS2 is an interesting case. Performance will definitely be improved just from the fact that Switch 2 is more powerful than Switch 1. However seeing as how devices such as the Steam Deck struggle to run PS2 games at consistent frame rates, I'm certain that the Switch 2 will also have the same issue.
-PS3 and Xbox 360 are out of the question.

All in all, I think Switch 2 won't have any issue with Gamecube and Wii but I'm not expecting any substantial improvement with PS2. PS3 and Xbox 360 are outside the realm of possibility. Might have to wait for the Switch 3 for that.

We shall see, I'm anticipating that the homebrew community around the Switch 2 will likely be much smaller in scale compared to Switch 1. Switch 1 had its doors blown wide open very early in its life giving the community a ton of time to form, and therefore giving people plenty of time to develop emulators. I foresee the Switch 2 hacking scene to be very niche and small by comparison, as I expect that any potential exploits will be limited to early FW versions that not everyone will have access to. I'd say it will be akin to the PS5 hacking scene, although probably a little bit larger due to peoples' fascination with Nintendo products

It probably depends on how easy it is to hack the Switch 2. If only people who bought a launch unit and kept it in a closet for two years can hack it then I don't imagine developers spending much time optimizing Switch 2 ports. It's probably capable of emulating home consoles up to the Wii and all handheld systems except the Switch.

It would be cool to see the Switch 2 as an emulation machine but it makes more sense for the Steam Deck to do the job because the lack of barriers to entry make it available to a far wider audience.

I bet it will be over a year past release date before Switch 2 even gets CFW/ modchip to even test out emulation performance. Big N will have the new console locked down tight, and the normal modchip connection points will be hidden on the new Switch 2 motherboard, making it more difficult to mod. New modchips will have to be redesigned and then produced, and those connection points will have to be found.
