The first Shenmue on Dreamcast is one of my favourite games ever but I thought Shenmue III was only OK - having to keep your stamina replenished made it really hard work to play.

I'm conflicted on this.

On one hand this should just be a straight patch for the original game; the NPC dialogue system was so broken that it was extremely difficult to play the game without people saying things clearly out of order. Earning money to proceed is/was extremely grindy and tedious, it's like they didn't have the budget to playtest at all.

On the other hand, there's no way this pile made a profit, they still deserve to make money for trying the impossible task of continuing the story of such an old game and this certainly a way to do it, but it doesn't exactly seem worth it.

It's also just funny to me that this severely overdo sequel isn't even close to finalizing Ryo's revenge story :rofl2: like cmon.

At least let him kill the dude that killed his father and move on to some other aspect for other titles the way Yakuza does it. Idk.

Edit: It's also funny to me how many people in this thread didn't seem to know this game already released years ago, I guess a broader-audience marketing budget was off the table too.
