Hacking pre loader

i have my wii softmoded with the hb channel can i install preloader because i went to the preloader wiki and it says not to install it with a modified ios and i have ios 249 im sort of a newb to this

im on 4.2 and have bootmii in the homebrew channel and i made a backup nand on my sd card
also is there some kind of priiloader that is better than preloader or something else i should be using to prevent bricking

Yes you can install it. If the installation fails hold B and press + to install.

In order to compile & use this installer with your application you must first place a "certs.bin"
in the data directory along with "preloader.app". The "preloader.app" file is your
compiled binary of the preloader source that has been bound with nand booting code.
You can obtain this from any systems menu or channel. This code must be placed at the end of your
compiled binary and potentially padded.
you will also need to add the correct loading address in the dol header, in text section 1.
this can be done manually or with dolboot.exe or (the much improved) opendolboot (found in priiloader source folder)

FAILURE TO DO THIS PROPERLY WILL RESULT IN A BRICK SO BOOTMII INSTALLED TO BOOT2 IS A MUST!

ok its saying ios 249 not patched with es_diversify what does that mean

This is not an issue i am installed prilloader beta 5 (for new HBC and 4.3 SM) with this error and everything works perfectly.

Just download the installer from the Priiloader pages.

Run the installer via the HBC. Your done.

The installer NEEDS to use a trucha patched IOS to install. Any custom IOS or a patched 36 should do the job.

PS: What version System menu do you have? If you are on 4.2, You may want to try the 0.4 version of Priiloader. Its simple to install for sure.
