you said: while in gamecube mode, then "GameCube mode"
you mean: while in gamecube mode, then press Home and select "GameCube mode = DM Auto"

Fixed, thank you.

It's safe and working like a dream no need for the warnings and confirmations

Ah I see it's only warning once :)

Yes, just once every time you change the option "GameCube mode = DM Auto"

postLoader 4.4.8 (only as update)
* gameBrowser: Automatic DM(L)/QuadForce wad installation (please, read notes carefully !!!). Thx to waninkoko WadManager 1.7 source codes.
* gameBrowser: Fixed a bug on reading/writing configuration information
* Increased mp3 buffer size (less disc i/o)
* little fixes

========================================
DM(L),QUADFORCE automatic mode:
========================================

When this option is enabled (press [home] while in gamecube mode, then "GameCube mode = DM Auto"), postLoader will choose and install the correct wad file to execute the selected gc/qf game.
To use this feature, you must create a wads folder in your <dev>/ploader folder, for example usb://ploader/wads if your postloader data folder is in the usb device.
Then rename the dm(l)/qadforce wads as follow

DIOSMIOS_2.10.wad -> dm.wad
DIOSMIOSLite_2.10.wad -> dml.wad
quadforce_4.1.wad -> qfusb.wad
quadforce_4.0.wad -> qfsd.wad

so you will end with the following files

<dev>://ploader/wads/dm.wad
<dev>://ploader/wads/dml.wad
<dev>://ploader/wads/qfusb.wad
<dev>://ploader/wads/qfsd.wad

Use only tested wads, from well known source. Installing these wads should be a safe operation, anyway it is a your choice. No warranty provided, no responsibility on me if you brick anything!

awesome work stfour
the fly switching DM(L),qfrce, is working awesome.

Very useful feature and the first of its kind! I had a similar idea not long ago when I wrote a modded wad manager to automate wad installs much like the old cioscorp installer. Only 2 issues with this on postloader so far:- Warning messages are not needed (maybe make them optional or able to switch them off in the gui or config file), anyone in the position to use homebrew has modded their wii and accepts their own responsibility in the small chance of a brick (anyone who comes knocking down your door to complain you bricked their wii deserves a smack anyway). The other issue I'm not sure if is a diosmios2.10/quadforce4.1 issue or a fault with postloader. When I use my wii with no sd card inserted and start postloader and start either GC or TF game from USB I've been getting console shutdowns. Then when I try the same with SD card inserted it works. This is similar to an issue with getting diosmios/quadforce working on neek. To be sure I wasn't talking s**t I installed a dm2.9 and qf4 and dm worked from USB without SD card inserted and QF worked from SD without USB plugged in. Wierd things are afoot with the latest releases of QF and DM.

I think that the message can be removed. Anyway it is showed just once, so actually it isn't a big problem ;)

(does it is shown once for you, right ?:blink:)

Can you try if dios-mios-booter has the same behavior ?

Sorry but I haven't the time to make some test today...

Ok I tried Dosbox again the arg working in WiiFlow is: -conf|{device}:/{path}/{name}
So I used: -conf${device}:/{path}/{name} instead in PL
Dosbox starts but the game won't autoload, as if argument is not working here

I looked into the source and found this in the file /trunk/source/browserEmu.c:
1550+ ms_Subst (cmd, "$", "|");

meaning | will replace $ or vice versa, I'm sure something is wrong here
Thanks :)

Hey AbdallahTerro, I think that the correct line for configuration file is just

002=1|1|DOSBox Conf|dosbox.dol|/Computers/DOS|Conf|dosbox.png|-conf;{device}:/{path}/{name}

wiiflow uses '|' character to separate arguments, postloader uses ";". Now '$' do the same, but I will remove this encoding in future release.

(I can't test this by myself now)

i can confirm that ";" fixed my issue here even in older revisions
Thanks a million Boss for looking into this :P

hi stfour.
i updated to 4.4.10, which still says it 4.4.9 in the version info btw.
i followed the instructions, and am trying out the DM/QF auto detect. i have all my QF games on usb, but postLoader doesnt see them among the other GC games on my drive.

edit: disregard...my bad, my qf games actually arent on my usb...YET

@stfour loving the new mios installation feature, has made launching games a breeze if you're swapping between QF/DM. THANK YOU!!

@Abz, recently d/loaded your latest PL4 masterpiece, and thought for your next update you can include the ploader/wad folder with necessary files for auto MIOS installation. Thanks again for your packs, your packs have helped me come to a better understanding of all things plugin related, arguments, dummy files, really neat stuff. Keep it coming Abz ;)

Thanks Rican :)
stfour, I know you said earlier that the plugin number limit need some work to get done, but we really need this now since many plugins has been newly added to the pool.
I'm even having hard time making room for new plugins in WiiFlow where the limit is 71!
I would like to make a complete conf for the pack that will have everything except the scummvm
TC :)

AbdallahTerro, I will be away for a about a week, but it is my intention to partially rewrite postloader's emu support. I want to add an home page where select the plugin and then browse for the roms of the plugin. This will allow to remove filters (I think that mixing roms from more than one plugin is confusing) and the limit ;)

Its not that confusing, however whatever you think is best bud, I have no issues if you remove the filters I'm a sub-folder support kinda guy anyway :P, if somebody else is going to miss them you might want to speak now lol.

stfour hey man I've been messing around with your filters and categories menu and my impression is it's very user-friendly for whatever that word is worth lol, but honestly it's real simple to use, it works really well and it's fast!

That's one of the things that's most appealing about PL4, is it's speed. I'm growing fond of it lol and I think that adding menu pages and choosing paths will be a slower process. Unless you're talking about adding a way to actively choose the paths for emu config setup, which would be neat. but I'm always open to fresh change so bring it on bud. I can always go back to 4.10 if the need really arises to use filters over whatever you come up with ;)

@ B.B.Link postLoader forwards to other USB loaders for game launching. Refer to your loader of choice for documentation/instructions on where to place files. You can choose which USB-Loader to use for game launching by hitting the "Home" button on your Wii-mote while in Wii game view, then select "set default loader", you can also choose neek2o as your loader of choice globally across the board.
