If there's one area where surface level mimicking with no understanding of the underlying causes or principles it's social interaction. If actual intelligence is the ability to identify underlying patterns, extrapolate rules and apply them to new situations, what does that mean for "intuitive" or "instinctual" interactions, where you pick up and repeat patterns without ever analyzing them?
"Nonverbal communication" and "social cues" and "unwritten rules" and the vast majority of human behavior that most people pick up, repeat, can't explain but never think to question, are an unending well of inspiration for stand up comedy and an undying trope in science fiction, where people struggle to explain basic concepts to some purely logical alien race, and it points out the quirks of human society and "makes you think"... showing just how many people never thought about their behavior at all.

How do we tell if a neurotypical person is conscious, or is just very good at repeating learned responses?
