the age group 18-64 (includes vast majority of workers) lost 270k people over 3 years with covid listed as contributing. The labor force is about 165 million.
Meaning loss of less than 1% (0.16%)
The real story here is people just don't want to work anymore
As seen below the labor force has for the most part continued to increase, but the number of those people actually working (participation) has decreased quite a bit over the past few years
