Hardware Possible New 2DS XL codename meanings

I was browsing the internet looking at nintendo console codenames and stuff when I thought about the New 2DS XL's codename (JAN) and what it could be.
So far I have come up with one.
And that is Project January.
Pretty strange but it is a possible meaning.

If we follow the naming convention of previous (2/3)(DS) models, @Creamy's guess on the n2DSXL's model abbreviation might have substance.

With names like Twilight it could just as easily be Janus or Jupiter or something.

I mean what does Citrus have to do with a 3DS.

I'm 99% sure it means January, thought that when I first saw the name in summer 2017, and haven't thought of any thing else it could mean

You see, it could be January as much as it could be anything that starts with JAN, that's the thing

With names like Twilight it could just as easily be Janus or Jupiter or something.

I mean what does Citrus have to do with a 3DS.

Although I agree with what you said, some of them actually makes sense (as in: correlates to the product in some way), be it in an obvious way or not

that's not exactly what i meant...
it could easily be an abbreviation of sorts (e.g. CTR=Citra)
