Currently attempting downgrading my "virgin" (HBL-ready) n3DSXL -> 0/2 successful attempts. Going on a 3rd one but it takes forever to download the 10.6 update each time^^

btw, I've been told the 9.2E_n3ds zip file's MD5 should be 6DCCA8FCBC9A28C82C2A4E5182F3ACF8, but until here everything I downloaded had this MD5 instead : AAA5960A3061DA1F08D944D8E7017BD6. So, do you know which one is correct ?

I won't lie. It's pretty amazing how quick this exploit was found. I wasn't expecting anything like this for 1-2 years, but of course the 3ds scene never fails to amazing me. Hats off to the devs and everyone who made this a reality.

From what I understand, the new method is only used for systems that require it, i.e. 10.4 - 10.6 but it should still correctly use the old method for other systems.

In my experience however, that new method worked on the first try on four different n3ds.
Compared to the old method taking me on average anywhere from 15 - 200 tries.

Yes. It's better to use in place of the old one from everything I've seen and heard
It doesn't use the new method on 10.3 according to Flagrama

[19:21] <@flagrama> : presently yes. N3DS 10.2-10.6 is possible though

Ok thanks for all the answer but the old one don't look very stable... I'm scared about trying it haha

so N3DS on 10.3 can downgrade with the method or what?

Or using 3DNUS download 10.4 and update from 10.3 using the sysupdater on that site in the firmware pakage thread to update 10.4 then use the new sysupdater and downgrade.

n3dsxl from 10.6 :D

bad idea still risky as far as i know double basically
Everything is risk. Heck, even official update is risky. Thing is updating from 10.3 is not that many titles being involved. You take risk this way or that way in the end. No pain no gain.

Double risky is bull. I updated few <10.2 console to 10.3 before downgrading to 9.2. None bricked. That's being said, I am not suggesting anything. Do anything at your own risk. I am just saying the possibility that you can try.
