I'd say no. a lot of people play their portables at home for fear of losing the system or theft (especially this). it's a bit like flashing a couple hundred dollars out in the open. that's why I don't play portables on the go. with that being said, I'd much rather play on the tv than a small screen while at home. I also don't like the idea of having to have the thing plugged in often.

Me too

one of my problems if it's portable only is that it's too bulky imo. I don't like using the joy cons if I can help it, and that tab on the back of the switch won't work on a bed or some place I could lay down and game. it would just fall over, so I couldn't use the pro controller unless I was sitting up.

that's just my opinion on portable only though. I thought about buying a switch lite at one point, but I'm afraid of using a charging cable with it. I have an adapter for my phone to use my old ps4 charging cable with a usb-c adapter. I have a separate plug for the charging grip and pro controllers, but the cable is too short. the ps4 cable is10ft, but it's slow at charging (takes about 6 hours from 20% on my phone to fully charged). I'm also afraid that the adapter will burn out something in the lite. it's worked perfectly fine for my new phone, but after hearing about docks and wrong cables bricking switches, I dunno.

I actually want classic to come back, being handheld costs more. Why are switch games 60 bucks, cause of cartridges. Why are joy cons expensive, because they have multiple functions. It also limits console power

yeah, I have a lot of things plugged into my room (have toggle switches to turn things off), but I'm afraid to plug anything more in. I might buy a superslim ps3, but I'll unplug the slim ps3 I'm using.

btw, I bought the new Mario red and blue switch today, but I had to pay scalping price. it's sold out already on gamestop. it's not on sale anywhere else currently.

They have to have a handheld console next as that's where they shine, and have managed to fight off the rest to get that market all to themselves again. Whether it should be a hybrid again or they should do a separate home system as well is the question, and honestly for now I think the answer is yes, what they're doing is working for them in terms of focusing all their limited hardware and software/game development resources on one platform rather than splitting them in two. The main competitors have more resources and also don't really split them - Microsoft may do Xbox, PC and streaming shit but it's all extensions of the same platform in terms of developing games for them.
