You cannot make a perfect release!!
Even when you check your courses for the tenth time, YOU WILL ALWAYS FIND NEW BUGS!
Remember my version 2.0?
I had to count it up to 2.0h!!
I told you 30 times!
Release the 1.0, and see how the feedback is...
There are 2 possibilities:
-1 positive feedback:
This will auto-force you to work on updated versions!
You will advance your courses, you will edit some more textures, fix some bug issues and much more!
See the mega improvment of the NSMB3 1.0 NSMB 2.0
You would work harder to make the community happy!!
And once the downloadcounter reaches 100,000 you will say:
Yay, everyone plays this game of "me"...
-2 negative feedback:
It sounds hard, but let's say the community is absolutly dissapointed...
Too hard levels, no challenges, retro graphics, too many bugs, "same" looking courses etc.
The only thing you would get be:
- depression
- stress
- developing some rage (real and virtual life)
- blabla
You would think, "It took me over thousands hours of work, and this is the thank for the great work..."
I think I AM THE ONLY ONE who really knows how much time you have invested to this game...
Release the 1.0, and look if it gets downloaded 10,000 times...
If not, give up, not worth to work more on that..
I know it sounds hard but you must also with this!
(Please don't get me wrong, but my hack was downloaded 25,000+ in the first night!
That means, you will need an advertisement --> a trailer IS required!!)
And the last thing!
Don't underdestimate the beta testing phase!
I always like to repeat this:
NSMB3 was finished in 3 months, the beta runs took 3 more
(= 6 months)
And since your game has much more tiles (see size of your trimmed rom) you will maybe need more
Goodluck
