savemii mod doesn't work correctly with cbhc as per my experience. it does with mocha and haxchi though. the dev even mentions not testing cbhc. I had to switch to mocha from cbhc to get my saves dumped.
Finally, you called a poll meaningful. Anyways if you want me to make your handwriting poll, just say, All my polls are amazing — Posts automatically merged - Please don't double post! — Oh, and also, stop calling me Polly by the way
Haxchi, it's easy enough to launch from the quick start menu on every boot, and unlike CBHC it doesn't brick every other Wii U because of using pirated games and other dumb user error.
too bad there's not a check for that when installing cbhc. fake tickets look nothing like legit ones. — Posts automatically merged - Please don't double post! — well, except that the title id is around the middle of the ticket for both and the ticket always starts with 00 01 00 04 in hex for both. the user portion of the ticket has a repeating pattern where a legit ticket would look like gibberish.
Too bad we can't have more intelligent people who would fully read well written guides before attempting an install on their pirated Virtual Console game.
CBHC is probably safer than Haxchi for any non related errors - the likelihood of a user partition to corrupt is lower than a title that's required to get somewhere. Since it loads before any primary title, there's less chance you'd end up full bricked using it. I can assume the people that insist Haxchi is safer also enjoy trying to break their console
well, people still end up fucking up their system, any system, by not reading. I always read everything I can before I hack a system in case something goes wrong, but people blindly follow youtube videos because they're easy to follow. youtube is the worst source you could use for anything related to hacking. aside from Mr. Mario, almost everyone who makes those videos have no idea what they're doing.
Objectively, as things stand now, CBHC is best. Though when Maschell finalizes the new cold boot entry point that doesn't require a DS title, that likely will take the top spot. Hopefully the new entry point can easily be switched to from CBHC, since I'm at that 300 title limit and any additional titles I can free up is always appreciated
Haxchi (non CBHC) for me. I've literally nothing on my Wii U that requires a CFW for launching and only use it to load Homebrew Launcher to rip and install new discs. All eShop-only games and Mario Kart 8 DLC have legit tickets. I don't like messing with the Wii U (didn't even install HBC on vWii) – there aren't that many and it is not as brick resistant as a Wii or 3DS.
CBHC is low risk as long as you do your research and dont' do anything dumb. Make sure you use only a legit purchased DS game installed to nand, don't factory reset, don't ever uninstall the game, and don't remove your NNID. it's especially useful if you play a lot of Wii/GCN injects because booting into vwii and back to wiiu counts as a reboot and means you normally lose signature patching.
