Hacking Pokemon X and Y

Just got a gateway and set it up this week, been dumping my games using the gateway launcher. I dumped Pokemon X and when I attempt to load it I simply get an error telling me the save data is corrupt. Have I done something wrong in the process? Do I need to delete the save data to dump the game?

There are reasons for it, but basically your dump is fine. it's just the save that can't be used.

You won't be able to continue your save that you had(on gateway firmware 2.1, anyway). You'll have to delete it first (hold up+....b and x when it tells you about corrupt save...I think), but after that you can play just fine. Gateway uses its own way of saving, and will save in the root of your SD card.

Alright, I haven't done New Leaf yet, but will it be the same way?
