ROM Hack Pokemon Sun and Moon trouble

So I recently got Pokemon Sun and Moon for my 3DS however when I started up Moon I got a message that the game cart had been removed (it had not). I wanted to make sure that it wasn't my system so I put my Bravely Second and SMT4 Apocalypse into my 3DS to test it, and they worked fine. I thought the problem might be with the cart so I unpackaged my Sun and put into my 3DS and got the same error. I did some research and I think it might have something to do with the fact that I have CFW on my 3DS. Does anybody know a way to fix this problem?

I have CFW on my systems and I can play Sun and Moon just fine. Make sure your CFW files are up to date.

What CFW are you running? Pokemon S/M carts have a NATIVE_FIRM requirement. So if you CFW is old like RXTools, the cart will not work on it.

I don't know if it's against the rules to comment in a thread this old, but I'm still having the problem. I thought the problem might be my CFW so I updated it to the latest version, but I'm still having trouble. Right now I'm running Luma and a9lh, which is now on the latest version. I'm wondering is the firmware.bin I have in the luma folder the thing causing the problem?

only thing that comes to mind is rom patching.

go to luma config, and turn it off. see if that helps.

If you mean the game, I have, and it works that way, but the cartridge doesn't work, and I'd rather play it through the cartridge since it saves memory on my SD card.

smh it was this the whole time, finally got everything to work, thanks to everyone who helped out
