Gaming Pokemon SS Help

Hey guys,

I need some help in Soul Silver. I've beaten the Violet City Gym and gone through the Sprout Tower. So now I can't get through the Dark Cave, there's an old man blocking my progress at Route 32 (he won't allow me to pass, old prick) and so I'm stuck.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For anybody else looking for the solution to this problem:

After defeating Falker you get a phone call from Professor Elm(I think) and he tells you he has an assistant at the Pokemart.. After the conversation the guy on Rt. 32 no longer stops you and gives you a Miracle Seed.
