ROM Hack Pokemon Platinum Questions

So, I am confused about a couple things. First of all, whenever I try to load my game, it restarts the intro sequence as if I had reset my ds. =/ IS there a patch that fixes this?

second of all, this isn't Platinum specific, but what are DSO and DTC files?
