ROM Hack Pokemon Platinum Pokerus Code

Hey everbody!
This week I started using cheats on my DSTT (that I had updated from GBAtemp Cheat Database - 7/12/10) principally on my platinum rom and all the cheats are working except one - the pokerus code
How can I make it works? Do I have to press a button, battle with a wild pokemon?
P.S.: I tried to press "R" when I had battled with a wild pokemon and it's still not working...
