Hacking Pokemon N3DS firmware questions

What firmware do you think the Pokemon N3DS will be?

Do I still need OOT or CN/Sky3ds to get into Gateway Mode/Downgrade MSET? I sold my Sky a while back.

What other ways can I make it hackable after I downgrade this system?

It will most likely be on the latest firmware, 10.5, but they may just come with 10.4, but I dont think they will come with 10.3

If Nintendo knows what they're up against, they'll definitely ship the consoles with 10.4/10.5.
...unless they're just rehashes like the ACHHD bundle, then they'll come 9.8+.

downgrading mset shouldnt be done anymore now that menuhax has been released.
i don't think cubic ninja is required but it might be someone else will have to clear that up, i always use it.
you might have to self host the browser exploit and not connect it online the first time so nintendo doesn't disable the browser.
10.3 is most likely because of how long the manufacturing process takes but it is possible some or even all of them will be updated, the original n3ds release in america was about 50/50 9.1/9.3

there's no way it will be 10.4+, since they were most likely manufactured when 10.3 or lower was out.

You'd have to downgrade it to 9.2 before even concerning yourself with MSET. First get the console when it comes out, figure out what firmware it's on, then decide on the course of action to take (which will probably be downgrading it from 10.x to 9.2)

Ok.... But I already know that....but once i get it to 9.2... if I dont have Sky OOT or CN.... what can I do to get mset?

browserhax. you can do that on any firmware 9.0 - 10.5.

And since it's a New 3DS, you can bypass the browser update nag (which can have tricky timing from what I hear), so an argument against browserhax on N3DS is also invalid unless your timing is just absolutely terrible.

it's easy, you just go to http://yls8.mtheall.com/3dsbrowserhax_auto.php and wait for the magic to happen (since you'll have a new 3ds, there's no messing around with sliders or anything). Sometimes it can crash, in which case you just reboot.

So go there when im in 9.2..... Do I also put the GW launcher in the SD card or am i getting ahead of myself?

No, you'd use it on 10.x or whatever your system firmware is (assuming it's not a 10.4+ unit) to get your foot in the door with homebrew. Since you don't have CN or OoT, you could do browserhax -> install menuhax (to get a more stable environment to work with) -> downgrade. You need to wait until you've downgraded before worrying about Gateway or MSET.

Just take it one step at a time. First get it, and see what firmware it's on. Then you can always ask for help with the rest.
