In attack and speed, yes, and ony by 5-10 points. But most fire moves are special attacks, and that's where a fire Pokemon should shine.

But given Arcanines moveset, he seems to revolve mostly around attack... Plus, with Thunder Fang and ExtremeSpeed, he could esily take on a Moltres.



I guess you're right. He is indeed a fine fire type Pokemon to have.

You can always EV train and/or breed for a good Sp. Atk nature.

3 slot toss up i use my personal likes for my last slot or a pkmn that suits my style of play.

Pwnage.. I have to totally disagree with ur infernape. It ability to physical sweeper is way better since it get way more physical ability then special. Even the strongest skill it gets is physical. So a Jollu Infermape for max speed output for it. He should also be a sword dance sweeper where his main skills is

EDIT: Just rechecked his base stats and he has the same special attack as attack. He can also learn nasty plot meaning he can do equalient to his physical. Though ur move set is not the best for him i recommed you change fire blast for flamethrower for more usage. U-Turn works badly if ur not a physical sweeper and why would people even put on atk and not satk when most of the EVs is already on satk. Well U-Turn should be changed out with nasty plot anyways

The reason behind the atk evs is obv because i have U-Turn and Close Combat in my moveset U-turn is very useful if you predict your opponents switch in most of the time its Swampert, Latias, Starmie which does good amount of damage and enables you to switch-in a counter to the pkmn. In my opinion if you arent running Infernape as a lead its best to use scarf. As for the Nasty Plot Moveset what does that do for you vs Gliscor or say Vaporeon ? nothing really , yea Infernape can Grass Knot but Vaporeon will more than likely survive and OHKO with STAB Surf.

Well its all personal preference here. Though i prefer a pokemon being focused on one thing rather then "hybrid" type where they focus on eveyrthing else. And i dont think infermape is actually the best lead and neither are Infermape meant to outbeat all pokemon it meets. There is a reason why we have 6 pokemon? A choice item here for him is uterrly useless. Life orb instead will work way better even though he gets a recoil. After getting sword dance it have a GOOD amount of ATK and there is only a few pokemon that outbeats his speed(+choice users ofc). Life orb might sound like a faster death for him as flare blitz do give recoil damage. Thats why we have expert belt. And still i have to deny with ur facts becasue of he have more potential in physical sweeping if ur going U-Turn.

He cant defeat vaperon and gliscor unless by giving him hidden power ice and what u stated earlier grass knot. Infermape will always have a dent no matter what u choose. Going for Special sweeping he beats many of those noted but yet he lose to many that his Physical sweeping abilites wins over. You can call it balanace i guess..

After you Swords Dance and your opponent switches in Rotom-h what do you do with the move set you have set up ? Most likely you're going to switch out well if you're a good/smart player. Life + SR + Flare Blitz = Fail Starmie Owns SD Infernape Plain and simple i have yet had problem with anything with scarfape late game Close Combat Feels Good.

I dont usually play in OU enviroments yet use them so i dont know the chances for a super geek nerd having a rotom. I already said what i wanted to say. The rest is up to the player though. But i still dont recommed him ur moveset. And even if he still goes for it he should make sure its a physical sweeper rather then special sweeper. Like using fire blitz & stone edge? Shoving all his EVs into attack rather then special attack. U-Turn is physical and thus making it stronger. Something that u ignored from my post is that i didnt deny that the moveset was weak. I was more denying the movesets setup and the EVs spread. By looking at how u play you most likely use U-Turn alot so if u do so why not go physical for max damaging as U-Turn is physical.

My last question will be.. will he ever do wifi battles o.o?
