ROM Hack pokemon heart gold patch game id help

um, this is my first post and i have no clue where to put it, so heres my question, i want to use cheats for my pokemon heart gold patch but i dont know how to change the game id, and when i try to use my sav to the regular game(not patched), the game freezes can someone help me please?

well if your game freezes then u have to patch it with rudolph's anti freeze patch.. you can get the patch from here http://www.megaupload.com/?d=K32R0HU5

i dont want to patch cause it will change the game id and i want to use cheats
