My game of Pokemon Black seems to lag quite badly as I walk around town. Every 10 steps or so it'll slow down a lot.

I'm using a Sandisk 2 8GB MicroSD HC, which has had no problems running dozens of other games.

Any help would be appreciated.

1. Download and install SD Formatter 3.0
2. Make a backup on your computer of your SD card.
3. Start SD formatter.
4. In options chose
Format Type: Full (OverWrite)
Format Size Adjustment: On
5. Press ok to close options windows and then Select the the SD card location in "Drive:"(by default if you only have one sd card plugged into your computer it will automatically chose select it)
6. Press Format and wait for the format to complete, can take some time depending on your sd card size or computer CPU speed.
7. Remember the backup we made on step 2? put all of it back in the sd card.
8. test it.
9 Proof it!

Buy a faster MicroSD card

I understand that the speed of your MicroSD card can affect performance, but as I said, it's ran every game I've thrown at it perfectly fine up until now, so I figured it might be something to do with this game.

I'll try formatting.

Try defragging your MicroSD. Use Defraggler. It's free.
it reduces the life of your microSD
format instead

you could try another microSD, like mentioned above
but it seems, this games speed also depends on which flashcart/fw you'll using
on my DSTT clone with official kernel: lag
on my DSTT clone with retro's TTMenu: even more lag
on my acekard with the latest akaio: no lag
(both carts use a microSD's with the same speed...0,01 ms random access difference, exact same write speed)

What? What did you just say?!

@OP, its either your MSD or your flashcart. Try a different microSD and if the lag persists, use a different flashcart. By the way, can you link me to the website of your flashcart?

The real game doesn't lag as much as when you have a bad sd card, like in the menu's,my real white copy has the menu fast, but my downloaded black version had the menu lagging.

I think I know the cause.

Im using a Dstt clone also with an 8gb.microsd

When I had 4/5 games pokemon runed fine today I added 6 six games and pokemon began to lag when entering /exiting towns.

I think the amount of games you stored affect the game. spiderman shatterd dimensions lagged also.
