Pokémon Black & White - 3DS Enhanced?

Yesterday, gaming website IGN have seemed to announce the long theorised prospect that Pokémon Black & White have enhancements if you play it on the upcoming Nintendo handheld; the Nintendo 3DS. At the moment, we do not know what the enhancements are or if they've mistaken the DSi enhancements for 3DS enhancements or whether the games will actually have new aspects for the 3DS. Hopefully, we'll get confirmation soon as the 3DS is out in Japan in two weeks so watch this space for confirmation

So they're finally confirmed, this is good

. Can't wait.

it's no more confirmed than before.
i still think IGN misunderstood a statement that DSi enhanced games run in DSi mode on a 3DS for "DSi enhanced games are 3DS enhanced"

If it is 3DS enhanced and we can run it on flashcarts... does that mean anything?

OK sure they may come out a couple weeks apart here... But consider the Japanese release dates...
B/W have been out for months over there and the 3DS isn't out for a couple of weeks..
I don't think it's likely to add features for a console that far ahead.. I think it's just DSi enhanced and 3DS will play it in DSi mode..

Do you mean on a DS flashcart or a 3DS flashcart (let's not get into the discussion if there will be one or not)?

You will need the original game anyway.

I still don't know why they didn't wait for the 3DS to be released first to release this game.

Agreed, it would have been a smart move.

This broke the pattern of having one generation on each hand held. I really didn't like the break, and I think that the couldn't have chosen a worse generation to do it with.

I agree with this as well, I was beyond pissed to hear it was to be released for the DS.

I wouldn't believe everything IGN says. They probably just confused 3DS-enhanced features with the DSi-enhanced features. I'll wait for another source before believing this.
If this does turn out to be true, though, it would be pretty awesome.

The only enhanced feature I know about in B/W is the Live Caster, or XTransiever internationally, and even so, that's only DSi enhanced like RiderLeangle put it.

IGN is known for getting ahead of themselves when it comes to reporting things sometimes. Take their information with a grain of salt.

... This doesn't really make sense to me, so I really doubt it's true.

Can't spell ignorance without IGN.
Well, this has been done before.

Zelda Oracle of Ages and Seasons (for the GBC) had unlockables if you played them on the GBA. They could be doing something similar.

2nd gen was released Gameboy like red & blue.
Does gbc count as a new console?
Oh and Gold and Silver did work on original gameboy afaik.
