Gaming pokeball house?

But never the less, i wonder if anyone knows what do the pokemon do when they are inside the balls?
Do they have a house and a gym to stay fit?
Do they kick back and play phoenix wright?

or is it just a black space where they float?
In which case, where do they go potty? or eat? or sleep?
And if all they did was sleep, why do they always come out of the ball alert and ready to kick some weedle? wouldnt they need some coffee or a some no-doze stuff?
i know i may be lookin into it a bit much, but i wonder if anyone knows,
