and...I'll update if it freezes, been playing for 13 minutes

edit: got back from pkmn-c no freezing yet

edit 2: confirmed froze after 30 minutes of playing, still have my save though

edit 3: confirmed random freezes after loading it backup...gotta wait for a new firmware update + ap fixes...whatever comes 1st

The no EXP is an anti piracy measure. There is a way to fix it though. Unfortunately, I cannot link it here. The freezing can be fixed with the same method too.

Pokemon Black & White works perfectly fine on my CycloDS, the firmware of mine is 1.59. All I did was follow these instructions:

1. Download the clean ROM of Black or White, and then extract it.
2. Download this patch program: http://www.mediafire.com/?g0otw2nyw2m, extract it.
3. Open the patch program, which is called "RRPatch".
4. Open the clean ROM of Black or White.
5. Copy and paste one of the codes below belonging to the ROM.
6. Click RUN.
7. Wait until this box comes up, and then press OK.
8. Use the .NDS file, not the .nds.bak.

I fallowed the thread (poll) from the nds hacking forum. After the patch there was no freezes and exp worked fine.
Played for about 3 hours (on white), with no freezes once.

Yeah, the KazoWAR translation also works perfectly on the DS. 2-3 hours in without freezing.

Everything works great for me except the Union Room.

The rom was corrupted when it was dumped. You'll need to find another dump of the game or patch it with Rudolph's Anti Piracy Patch if you want it working.

Hmm, I've tried several at this point, and they all do the same thing.

There's no particular reason I need Black, so I'll see if I have any better luck with White.

Most dumps in circulation are BAHAMUT dumps, so you'd probably need to dump it yourself if you wanted to use it, unless BAHAMUT re-dumped a new one which is unlikely.

I'd stick with White if you don't care about version exclusives.
