I just got a flashcart. I know its a clone. But, I'd like to know what is it a clone of, because I really want to play pokemon black, but the firmware that it came with does not load it. I tried every wood firmware and it didn't work. So could you recommend a firmware for it as well that works on similar clones and can run pokemon black.

Sorry if I'm not allowed to link to pictures, but I can't attach anything. I tried.

Oh and also, here's a link to the website that is written on the box. I updated the firmware, and apparently pokemon black is supposed to work, but it didn't.
The error that I get is:
[Rom laoding failed]
load rom errcode=-4
Please reset the system

I'm really new to the entire flashcart thing, so please help.

It's a clone alright. The most I can suggest is to either use ysmenu or get one of the better R4's or a acekard or supercard 2.

Can someone write up a list of all the different types of R4's? It seems like new ones are coming out weekly, it's insane.

Also, if YSMenu doesn't work, chances are you have a crap card and can't play any of the newer games.

I can name about 5 right off the back, but the first one that came to mind was http://r4-king.com/.
And yes, it is a DSTT clone that is HORRIBLY out of date.

Also, its an inception clone.

(A clone of a clone of a clone of another clone.)

There's So many different R4 it's almost impossible to actually to keep up...

Back in March 2010 - a website tried to show a 'family tree' of flashcards

Sounds like a challenge to me... Lol.

I think I may actually try that... I've got too much free time on my hands anyway.

I like the family tree idea but with flashcart release date in plus. This picture need to be updated.

Well I did say 'tried to show'
- looking @ that family tree there's only ~8 'R4' cards shown but according to here there's is ~68 'R4'/'R4i' cards

I would HATE to see how THAT chart would look like - after all we need to know which of those cards are clones of what other cards (ak2/DSTT/Original R4 etc)
- but having a chart of pictures of all flashcards may help future identification & to know which firmware works with what

I also like the idea of different sections (DSLite/Dsi) for the different cards - perhaps the idea could be extended for 3DS as well IF some1 willing to have an attempt

I'm typing up a list of R4 clones with descriptions and clones of etc. as we speak.

But I draw the line at making a chart.

CODER4 Web LinkÂÂ/ÂÂClone ofÂÂ/ last updateÂÂÂÂÂÂ/ Alt. OS
======================================================
r4igold.cnÂÂ /ÂÂ R4iÂÂÂÂÂÂ/ v1.35 (aug 06)ÂÂ /ÂÂWood
r4inds.comÂÂ / DSTTiÂÂÂÂÂÂ/ v3.1ÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂ / YSMenu
(I've only put in random values ATM)

The 'R4 Web link' and 'Alt OS' would/could also be links to latest versions
The 'last updated' columns won't need updating as much IF it's been a few months since the last version released (so that '(aug 06)' example will never be changed)

& the next time someone asks - 'can you identify this ??', we just point them to the Wiki page & ask - is the web address on that list, if so try the alternative OS ??

So far it's along the lines of

Name
Website
Brief description
Clone of
Shoptemp listing (where available)

but the last update idea is a good one, will add

EDIT: it also mentions what alternative OS's cart is compatible with (if any at all)

yes , you should tell us where did you get this clone , and what is the official site of this card, the full name of it and more info would be better....
